Hugh Hefner is a guy every guy wants to be. Famous as the founder of PlayBoy, but also about his villa (Playboy Mansion) or about his culture influence on the world. But what are those things you really just don’t know about Hefner.
1 – Hugh Marston Hefner was born on April 9, 1926 in Chicago Illinois. He and brother Keith were raised by strict Methodist parents.
2 – Hugh’s IQ is 152 !
3 – Sylvilagus Palustris Hefneri is a sub-species of marsh rabbit named after Hef.
4 – Hef is a 9th cousin, twice removed, of George W. Bush and a 9th cousin, once removed, of John Kerry.
5 – He started his Playboy empire with just $8.000. He took out a $600 loan against furniture in his apartment. He received $1k from his mother and $1k from his brother.
6 – The first issue of Playboy featured a photo of Marilyn Monroe that Hugh bought from a local calendar printer.
7 – Hef owns the crypt next to Marilyn Monroe.
8 – Hef has a collection of over 4,000 films lining a staircase in his mansion.
9 – Stag Party was the Original title of Playboy. Hef changed the name to avoid confusion with Stag, which was an outdoor living magazine.
10 – In 1996 Hef purchased the mansion next door and converted it to be a mirror image of his.
11 – In 1978 Hefner helped organize fund-raising efforts that led to the restoration of the Hollywood Sign and he personally contributed $27,000 to purchase the “Y” in a ceremonial auction.
12 – In 2010 he donated $900,000 to save the Hollywood sign from being spoiled by land development.
13 – The Playboy Mansion is one of a select few private homes with a zoo license.
14 – Hef has all his meals brought to his bedroom suite at the Mansion.
15 – While Hugh says he stopped counting the number of women he’s slept with a long time ago, he does estimate that he’s easily had more then 2,000.
16 – But his best sexual experience ? Let the man tell you himself:”At one of my birthday parties my girlfriend got me a special treat. She and 17 other playmates came into the grotto with me. That was one hell of a birthday !”
